SBV Excelsior, founded in 1902, are Rotterdam's third professional club alongside Feyenoord and Sparta. They play at the Woudestein ground in the east of the city.
Excelsior are one of the smallest clubs in Dutch professional football and still keep finding their way into the Eredivisie — usually with young players and a clear idea of how to play.
Woudestein holds only a few thousand spectators. That is precisely what makes it one of the special places in Dutch football.
