Gil Vicente FC, named after the celebrated Portuguese playwright, are a proud representative of football from Barcelos. At the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos the players show their appetite for the fight week after week.
Founded in 1924, the club has known many highs and lows in its history. In recent years, though, they have re-established themselves in the Primeira Liga and remain a stubborn challenge for their opponents.
With a loyal following behind them, Gil Vicente prove that tradition and fighting spirit have lost none of their meaning in the modern game.
