AS Roma, founded in 1927 and based at the Stadio Olimpico, have established themselves as one of Italy's most significant clubs. The Giallorossi are known for their passionate support and the fierce rivalry with Lazio, which makes the Derby della Capitale one of the most gripping fixtures in Italy.
Roma have lifted the Coppa Italia several times. Especially memorable was 2001, when the side dominated Serie A under Fabio Capello with a string of legendary players, among them Francesco Totti, who became an icon of the club.
The Roman atmosphere inside the ground is unmatched. At every home game the city is lit in red and gold, and the fans generate a fervour that makes the stadium shake.
