1. FC Köln, founded in 1948, play their home games at the RheinEnergieStadion in Müngersdorf. In 1964 the club became the very first German champion of the newly created Bundesliga.
Their honours include three championships and several cup wins. Few clubs embody the ups and downs of German football so completely — or a support that carries the club through both.
The club's emblem is the billy goat Hennes. Inside the ground, Köln's fans create an atmosphere known far beyond the city limits.
